Whitby Community Information Session

Category:
Community:

On July 7th, 2021, Delmanor hosted a community information session, open to residents of West Whitby. This meeting was also attended by councillors of the area, including local ward councillor, Diedre Newman. The session was an informal discussion, intended not only to share our enthusiasm for becoming part of the community, but to provide local residents with details on one of our anticipated future developments. These details included project specific information pertaining to the rezoning application recently submitted, what to expect in terms of planning approvals timelines, and more on the construction process. For the second half of the session, an open question and answer period was held. During this time, the Delmanor team and their technical consultants were available and eager to answer any questions attendees had.  Please follow the link https://youtu.be/wNtDi2YFwRU to view the full session.

More project details will become available on the website shortly.

SDA chose the first-ever Canadian, Chef Divakar Raju, Corporate Manager of Culinary Services at Delmanor in Canada, as Corporate Dining Executive of the Year.

According to Chef Divakar’s nominator, Michelle White, General Manager at Delmanor Elgin Mills, his involvement in the Delmanor Community expands the walls of the 5 residences. “Chef D inspires everyone with his work to be a leader in the industry, mentor his staff, and pay it forward to meaningful charitable organizations,” Michelle said.

He and his team have worked to increase satisfaction scores of Delmanor residents in terms of meal presentation, dining room atmosphere, nutritional balance, timeliness, and variety.

“Through Chef D’s seamless ability to connect with a variety of people, he can bring everyone together, enabling them to reach goals,” Michelle said. “His energy, innovation, and ability to continuously find new ways to collaborate with his team, residents of the Delmanor communities, and the world around him truly set him apart.”

SDA would like to thank all of those who submitted an award nomination. “We appreciate hearing from our members and receiving so many exceptional nominations,” Harris said. “The SDA awards program ensures that the very best in this industry receive appropriate kudos from their peers and give all senior dining professionals something to aspire to.”
